Improvisation:

After Deployment, before the start of the game, an Archeologist can secretly designate a piece of terrain no bigger than 8”x8” to have been Mined by them before the battlefield, by choosing a weapon with the GRENADE keyword that the Archeologist has equipped. If the weapon may only be used a limited amount of time, this counts as one use.

The first time in the game an enemy Model moves into contact with the Mined piece of terrain, unless that model has the Defuse Mine ability, they are treated as having been hit successfully by a Ranged Attack roll using the Battlekit designated at the start of the game.

De-mine:

When you move this model into contact with a terrain piece that has been Mined, you can say this model will halt and try to defuse the mine before it detonates as per its rules. If you do so, take a Risky Success Roll for the model. If the roll is a Failure, the mine detonates anyway and this model’s Activation ends. If the roll is a Success, the mine does not detonate and the terrain piece is no longer considered to be Mined.
