Hits against Gorthor or his Chariot with a Strength of greater than 5 count as Strength 5 instead, and can only inflict 1 wound per hit even if they would normally inflict more. Attacks that automatically wound, or score wounds on a fixed dice roll, will still do so. Note that since this item is part of Gorthor's Chariot, it will be lost if the Chariot is destroyed.
