Jetbike

(Rule)
Description: Jetikes can move up to 12" in the Movement phase instead of the normal 6" move. Jetbikes may move over enemy and friendly units. They are able to move completely over difficult terrain, so that they do not have to take Dangerous terrain tests. They may even end their move on top of difficult terrain, but if they do this they cannot claim any Cover Save, and will be as tall as the terrain for line of sight purposes. Jetbikes may try to pass through Area Terrain, eg, woods and forests, rather than fly above them, in order to claim a Cover Save. If they do this, they are not slowed down by difficult terrain but each model entereing or moving through the area must take a Dangerous Terrain test. If they end their move within difficult terrain, they will be able to claim a Cover Save. All jetbikes can use the Turbo Boosters special rule. Each jetbike in a unit may fire one weapon for each rider on the bike. If rapid fire weapons are mounted on a jetbike, they are allowed to fire once up to maximum range even if the bike moved. Rapid fire and Heavy weapons maybe fired if the unit moves and the jetbike is still allowed to charge into close combat in the same turn. Jetbikes' assault moved are not slowed down by difficult terrain. However, each model entering or moving through difficult terrain when assaulting must take a Dangerous Terrain test. Note that jetbikes cannot opt to move over difficult terrain in the Assault phase as they can in the Movement phase, as the jetbikes are assumed to be close to the ground in order to initiate combat. Eldar jetbike units are always allowed to move 6" in the Assault phase, even if they don't assault. When Eldar jetbikes move in the Assault phase and do not assault, then they treat difficult terrain just as jetbikes do in the Movement phase (and so can opt to move through it, or end their move on top of it). Jetbikes will fall back 3D6" if they fail a Morale Check instead of 2D6". A jetbike increases the Toughness characteristic of its rider by 1. Note that this increase does not affect the model's Toughness when adjudicating Instant Death.
