Special Rule
Bound Spirits:
  • Restriction: swarm unit bearing this rule
  • Result:
  • the Undisciplined rule that binds other swarms does not apply
  • the unit benefits from Inspiring Presence (army's General) and Hold your Ground (Battle Standard)
Ethereal:
  • Restriction: Ethereal creatures
  • Result:
  • For movement every terrain type counts as open ground; it may cross impassable terrain but not finish inside it
  • Only Magical attacks can wound it
  • Non-Ethereal characters cannot join Ethereal units, nor the reverse
Magical Attacks:
  • Restriction: model or weapon with Magical Attacks
  • Result: its attacks and hits are 'Magical' attacks
  • All spells and all hits from magic items also count
Necromantic Undead:
  • Restriction: a character with it cannot join units without it, and vice versa
  • Result:
  • Models count as ‘Undead’
  • No march, unless using Fly (X) to move
  • They also gain Fear, Immune to Psychology, Unbreakable and Unstable
Open Order:

Such a unit is allowed to take up an Open Order formation.

Regeneration:
  • Restriction: model with Regeneration (X+), where X+ is its Regeneration value
  • Timing: immediately after a Wound is lost, ahead of removing models at 0 Wounds
  • Result: a "Regeneration save" roll of 1D6 (optional): on X+ the Wound comes back, but still counts toward the combat result
  • Effects altering armour values do not touch the Regeneration value, unless stated otherwise.
Reserve Move:
  • Restriction: a unit where most models have Reserve Move
  • Timing: closing moments of the Shooting phase in its own turn, once all shooting resolves
  • Condition: it did not charge, march or flee earlier in the Movement phase
  • Result: a Reserve move (optional)
  • Handled as Basic Movement; manoeuvres work as usual, but no march.
Insignificant:
  • Restriction: Swarms
  • Result:
  • a line of sight may be traced over a swarm as if nothing stood there
  • when checking whether an enemy character may be targeted, swarms are ignored
No One Cares:
  • Restriction: Swarms
  • Result: whatever happens to a swarm, it causes no Panic among friendly units
Undisciplined:
  • Restriction: unit with this rule
  • Result: the army's General cannot lend it Inspiring Presence, and a Battle Standard cannot lend it "Hold your Ground"
  • Related: Swarms
