Special Rule
Eternal Hatred:
  • Condition: opponent is High Elves
  • Result: Hatred of this model works each round of close combat, beyond the first
  • the mount, if any, is excluded
Frenzy:
  • Result:
  • Frenzied model, on a turn of its charge move or the turn after its follow up move: gains +1 Attacks characteristic (not for the mount of a cavalry model, the beasts of a chariot, or the rider of a monster)
  • At all times, majority Frenzied: unit passes every Fear, Panic and Terror test automatically
  • At all times, unit with 1+ Frenzied models that could declare a charge in its own Declare Charges & Charge Reactions sub-phase: forced to do so
  • At all times, majority Frenzied: Flee is not allowed as a charge reaction, and no Restraint test can be made
  • Losing Frenzy: a model whose side loses a combat round on combat result drops Frenzy immediately
Hatred:
  • Timing: first round of combat
  • Select: failed rolls To Hit versus a hatred enemy
  • Result: re-roll them (optional)
  • hated foes appear in brackets next to the name; 'all enemies' covers every enemy model
Loner:
  • Restriction: Loner
  • Result:
  • A character with Loner cannot be General; it joins only units with Loner
  • Units with Loner cannot be joined by characters lacking it
Murderous:
  • Restriction: mundane weapons only; the model's mount never benefits; ends while a magic weapon is used
  • Timing: model engaged in close combat
  • Result: may re-roll To Wound rolls showing a natural 1 (optional)
Poisoned Attacks:
  • Restriction: model with Poisoned Attacks
  • Condition: natural 6 on a roll To Hit; does not work if a hit roll of 7+ is needed or the attack hits automatically
  • Result: +2 on the roll To Wound for that hit (optional)
  • Valid in shooting and combat unless stated otherwise
  • Excluded: the model's own spells, attacks from magic weapons
Strike First:
  • Restriction: model with Strike First
  • Timing: Combat phase
  • Condition: the model is engaged in combat
  • Result:
  • Initiative characteristic becomes 10, applied ahead of any other modifier.
  • Strike Last on the same model: both rules void each other.
Warband:
  • Condition: the Warband is not fleeing
  • Result:
  • Leadership characteristic +current Rank Bonus, capped at Leadership 10
  • The bonus is void for a Restraint test, and for an Impetuous unit's test on whether a charge is forced
  • Majority of models have Warband: re-roll its Charge roll (optional)
  • A character gets the bonus only if it too has Warband
  • A Warband unit takes the highest of: its own modified Leadership, a Warband character's modified Leadership, a non-Warband character's unmodified Leadership
Press of Battle:
  • Restriction: Unit with this rule, arrayed in combat order
  • Condition: It did not charge this turn
  • Result: Its fighting rank counts as 2 ranks deep
  • Models directly behind, in base contact with a model of the actual fighting rank, also count as in the fighting rank
Massed Infantry:
  • Restriction: Side fielding at least one unit with this rule
  • Condition: When combat results are tallied, that side's Unit Strength is the greater
  • Result: It may claim +1 combat result point
Parry:
  • Restriction: Model with this rule, carrying a hand weapon plus shield
  • Condition: In close combat, and opting to use that weapon and shield combination
  • Result: armour value +1, capped at 3+
