Joining other units

(Rule)
Description: Attachable Models can join other units either by Deploying inside and simultaneously with the unit, or by moving into contact with the unit with a Move Manoeuvre, i.e. a Reform, Advance, or March Move. If the latter, the unit that was joined cannot move further in the same phase.

Attachable models ignore the Unit Spacing rule with regards to the unit they are about to join, and they must have enough movement to reach their final and legal position within the unit, which normally means the models must be able to reach the front rank.

During the Player Turn in which the Attachable Model joins the unit, the Attachable Model and the unit are treated individually for the purpose of determining which model has moved or Marched.

Units that are Shaken or Engaged in Combat cannot be joined.

The Attachable Model can choose any legal position it can reach with its move. That includes moving through the unit it joins and displacing other Attachable Models. Displaced models are placed in rear ranks. If the unit has a single rank, the Attachable Model or the displaced models can alternatively be placed on the side of the unit, forming a new file
