A battlegroup may include a single Banner of Retainers as Reinforcements for every non-Retainer Knight Banner in the battlegroup. Banners of Retainers cannot be taken as part of a maniple, while Knight Lances can only include a maximum of one Retainer Banner. Banners of Retainers do not count towards the maximum number of Knight Banners allowed per maniple in a Legio battlegroup.
