Units may suffer from various psychological states, which can limit their actions. It is recommended to use markers to indicate the current state of each unit.
Note that units can be in multiple states simultaneously.
h2 class='ruleTitle'>DecimatedA model is considered Decimated when its original* unit’s current Health Points is 25% or less of its starting Health Points, as listed in the Army List.
Decimated Models are removed as Casualties just before they would perform a Flee Move.
* Original unit means the units as listed on the Army List. This means that the Rank-and-File part of a unit might be considered Decimated, while an Attachable Model joined to the unit is not, or vice versa. In this case, remove only Decimated models from the unit when performing the Flee Move, and leave models that are not Decimated on the Battlefield.
h2 class='ruleTitle'>ShakenWhen a unit fails a Panic Test or a Break Test or chooses Charge Reaction Flee!, it becomes Shaken.
A Shaken unit is unable to perform voluntary actions. This includes declaring Charges, moving in any way other than a Flee Move, Shoot, Generate Magic Dice, cast spells, or activate Magic Items that require voluntary activation. However, there is an exception: the unit may still choose to Flee! or Hold! As a Charge Reaction.
Remember that a unit that is Shaken, it temporarily stops being a Scoring until it is no longer Shaken.
Shaken units that are Engaged in Combat are removed as casualties at step 2.1 of their Round of Combat sequence.
In order to remember which units are Shaken, we recommend that Shaken units are clearly marked. This can either be done with specific markers or tokens to indicate a unit is Shaken, or if you do not have such markers, a commonly used method for marking Shaken units is to put one model from the Front Rank of the Shaken unit, and lie face down next to the unit.
