Character Mounts

(Rule)
Description: When a Character selects a mount from the options available to it, the following rules apply to the combined model of a rider and its mount.

  • Height and Base: Use the Mount’s Height and base.

  • Offence Characteristics: The rider and the mount each use their own Offensive Characteristics, Weapons and Attack Attributes.

  • Defence and Global Characteristics: The combined model has a single set of Global and Defensive Characteristics and Model Rules.

  • Generally, the values from the mount’s profile are used. Modifiers to the rider’s Characteristics have no impact on the Defence and Global Characteristics of a mount, unless specifically mentioned otherwise, or one of the following cases are used:

  • If a value in the mount’s profile is indicated as C, the corresponding value from the Character’s profile is used instead, including any modifiers to it.

  • If a value is written as C+X, the Character’s value is increased by X.

  • If a value is written as C-X, the Character’s value is decreased by X.

  • For example, a Character with Arm 2 that is wielding a Shield (+1 Arm) while with a dragon with Arm 4, the combined model’s Arm is still only 4. If the Character instead was on a horse with Arm C+2, the model’s Arm 5 (2+1+2).

  • Model Rules: Model Rules follow the same structure as above. In this case,

  • Attack Attributes and Weapons are applied only to the specific model part that has the rules.

  • Other Model Rules are applied to the combined model as a whole.

  • For example, a Character with Distracting and Lethal Strike on a horse. The horse cannot benefit from Lethal Strike, since it is an Attack Attribute and applied only to attacks from a single model part; the Character itself. However, Distracting is neither an Attack Attribute nor a Weapon, and is therefore applied to the entire combined model.
