Battle Points

(Rule)
Description: The winner of the game is determined by the number of Battle Points they score. Players always share a total of 20 Battle Points, making a 10-10 a draw and a 20-0 a decisive victory. These Battle Points can be earned through several methods outlined below.

  • Victory Points: The primary way to score Battle Points is by eliminating enemy units, which earns you Victory Points (VP). See below for details on how many VP units are worth.

  • Winning the Primary Objective: Both players share the same Primary Objective, chosen at the start of the game. The player who successfully accomplishes the Primary Objective obtains 3 Battle Points, while the other player loses 3 Battle Points.

  • Winning the Secondary Objective: Each player has a Secondary Objective, chosen at the start of the game. If only one player successfully accomplishes their Secondary Objective, this player obtains 1 Battle Points, while the other player loses 1 Battle Points.

If no outside source tells you how to use Secondary Objectives (e.g. tournament organiser, campaign rule, etc.), players should establish how much they want to focus on Secondary Objectives before the game. Consider the following guidelines:

  • In standard competitive games, Secondary Objectives are typically worth +1/-1 BP, as detailed in the table below.

  • For games focused on learning the core rules, it’s recommended to ignore Secondary Objectives entirely.

  • Those seeking a more immersive, story-driven experience may opt to assign Secondary Objectives a higher value, such as +5/-5 BP.

Players are encouraged to assign a value for Secondary Objectives that aligns with their desired level of competitive challenge and narrative engagement.

Scoring Victory Points

At the end of the game, each player earns Victory Points (VP) using the rules below.

  • Destroyed Units: You obtain VP equal to the full Point Cost (from the Armylist) of each enemy unit that has been removed as a casualty.

  • Shaken Units: You obtain VP equal to half its Point Cost, rounding fractions up, for each enemy unit that is Shaken at the end of the game.

  • Decimated Units: You obtain VP equal to half the Point Cost, rounding fractions up, for each enemy unit that is Decimated at the end of the game.

  • Shaken and Decimated Units: You earn VP equal to the full Point Cost for each enemy unit that is both Shaken and Decimated at the end of the game.

  •

When calculating VP, Attachable Models are considered separately from the units they are joined to at the end of the game.

After summing all Victory Points for both players, calculate the difference in Victory Point between the players. Compare the difference with the Army Size and consult the table below to convert Victory Points to Battle Points. The player who scored more Battle Points is considered the winner.

VP difference BP winner BP defeated
0 - 5% 10 10
>5 - 10% 11 9
>10 - 20% 12 8
>20 - 30% 13 7
>30 - 40% 14 6
>40 - 50% 15 5
>50% or more 16 4
Primary Objective +3 -3
Lone winner of Secondary Objective +1* -1*

For example, in a game with Army Size 3000 points, player A scored 2054 VP and player B scored 1004 VP.

  • The difference is 1050, which is 35% of 3000. This means that player A receives 14 Battle Points, and player B 6 Battle Points.

  • Player A won the Primary Objective, which modifies the result into 17-3 .

  • Both players succeeded in their Secondary Objective, and thus the result is not further modified.

*If decided before the game to increase the value of Secondary Objectives, modify these values accordingly.
