Attack Attributes

(Rule)
Description: Attack attributes is a subcategory of Model Rules. While most Model Rules apply to the entire model, including all model parts on the same base, Attack Attributes are the exception, and only affect individual model parts, or even individual attacks. Attack Attributes by default only affect Melee Attacks.
Attack Attributes for models are therefore written under the Offensive Characteristics part of the model entry, and thus only affect the specific model part it’s listed under. Note however that if an Attack Attribute is given to a unit (e.g. as a result of a spell), it applies to every model part in that unit, and if given to a model, it applies to all parts of that model.
In addition to being given to a model part, Attack Attributes can also be given to a weapon, a spell, or an attack. Such Attack Attributes only affect attacks made with those specific sources. They won’t affect other attacks made by the same model part.
Attack Attributes by default only affect Melee Attacks. There are two main exceptions to this:

  • An Attack Attribute given specifically to a weapon, a spell or attack will affect it regardless of if it would normally only be applicable to Melee Attacks.

  • Attack Attributes that come with their own Strength, Armour Penetration (including Attack Attributes that et the Str/AP of the attack, such as Toxic Attacks) are not affected by Attack Attributes on the model part. For example, a dragon might have Grind Attack(Str, AP, Flaming Attacks) and Lethal Strike. The hits from its Grind Attack are not affected by Lethal Strike, since this is an Attribute on the dragon itself.
